Eat a Chily by Wein Weng
Eat a Chily by Wein Weng
Departing from the memory of the sensation of eating chili pepper, this project explores visual and textual expressions of the physical and metaphorical feeling of burn. Tracing through their years-long photographic archive, the artist seeks these moments and binds them together for the composition of a visual essay in transit.
The book incorporates textual fragments in both English and traditional Chinese which the reader can choose to read beginning either from the left or right end of the book. It so embodies a commentary on linearity and westernized didactics.
