WARM WORK by Anouk Asselineau and Myrto Vratsanou

warm work

duo exhibition by Myrto Vratsanou & Anouk Asselineau

27. February - 15. March 2025

Opening: February 27th, 5-8 PM

Artist talk and mind-map workshop: March 1st, 2-3 PM

In their first exhibition in Copenhagen, artist duo Anouk Asselineau & Myrto Vratsanou present a new series of aluminium and copper embossings.

Starting from jobs held by artists, and an effort to represent the wage-earning labour that must take place to allow for so-called ‘artistic production’ to occur, the hand-embossed reliefs portray people at work. Using materials that speak to the fragility of the employment market, the marks on soft craft metal reflect this particular doubling of professional life and its psychological negotiations.

Alongside the exhibition, Asselineau & Vratsanou will launch a mind-map poster.

Anouk Asselineau (b. 1993) is a French-Australian artist living in the Netherlands. She works with sculpture, installation, drawing, video and writing. Her work is an attempt to expand narratives, authorities and chains of production that are implicit in objects and language.
She studied at Goldsmiths Univestity and the Sandberg Institute.

Myrto Vratsanou (b. 1994) is a Greek artist based in Copenhagen. Working with drawing and sculpture, she explores material histories, fictions, temporalities and traditions, with an emphasis on the poetic qualities of craftwork, obsolete labour and its artefacts.
She studied at the Athens School of Fine Arts, Sandberg Institute and the Academy of Media Arts Köln.
