The Urge is a photographic project and an artist’s book. Despite the obvious attention to the presentation of the photographic material, the book object escapes categorization as a photobook thanks to the exceptional attention put into the making, the delicate binding, and the playfull inserts of textual material. 

The project themes public men's restrooms through the lens of queer sexuality and unfolds as the presentation of an archive of personal photographs, extracts from ‘90s porn magazines, and short intimate stories playing out in public restrooms. The intimacy that characterizes this collection of raw depictions of urge in public space, renders the project an ode to the queer community in Athens and internationally.
