SOME WORKS by Jonas Georg Christensen

SOME WORK

Solo Show by Jonas Georg Christensen

July 3 - July 25, 2020

Bladr is happy to anounce the opening of the exhibition: SOME WORK that presents new and older, graphic and photographic works by visual artist Jonas Georg Christensen.

Christensen's works revolve around and formulate questions regarding the concept of the sublime. By treating image and text visually, he raises questions about what language(s) is and how visual works are thematized.

Furthermore, the exhibition will converse on what a publication can be and the relationship between – shadow and light – the colors black, white and gray is.

For the exhibition, a new site-specific work has been produced in the form of a collection folder, which contains various graphic prints and paper works. The work was created in a laboratory – as Christensen calls it – in the print workshop Actum Kopi & Tryk. In this, Christensen works to combine different printing and finishing techniques, in order to investigate one aspect of digital printing's standards and some of its combination possibilities.

During the exhibition period Bladr is considered a laboratory in which material – as well as contextual – experiments can be carried out within the formats of exhibition space, (exhibition) platform and publication.

Jonas Georg Christensen (b. 1983) is educated at the Funen Art Academy (2006-08), the Jutland Academy of Arts (2008-11) and at the Kgl. Danish Academy of Arts (2013-16) at the Department of Theory and Communication.
In his work, Christensen generally works with questions related to topics such as system formation, power, rights and norms.

The exhibition is supported by Actum Kopi & Tryk
